On Tuesday, March 7,
at 3:20-4:20pm I met up met with my adult tutee Xiaoyu in Dirac library. She
told me she advanced to the level 4 reading class which I think is super
impressive! I congratulated her on her accomplishment. Because she is now in
the level 4 class, the reading material she has is a lot more difficult in my
opinion. The article she was assigned has to do with trilingual people learning
a new language. A lot of the vocab I thought was really advanced, but Xiaoyu
seemed to understand most of it and only had a few questions about vocab. She
also had a worksheet on the phrase “when was the last time you…” She has a question
regarding whether or not you always have to use simple past tense after the
word “when” I told her no, that is not always the case because the word “when”
can be used in any context and isn’t just exclusive to the past tense. We then
took a break for ten minutes before starting the next session.
