Encouraged by children's high motivation to improve their English, I continued into a second hour to complete all 16 tutoring sessions. For the second hour, we reviewed daily hygiene tasks using flashcards I prepared. Recently the IRC completed a training for the adults about personal care and household maintenance. I tried to incorporate some of the vocabulary from that presentation into the children's lesson. We discussed verbs such as: to brush your teeth, to wash your hair, to wash your hands etc. At the end of the lesson, the children asked if I had a Kinyarwanda dictionary. I pulled up one of my phone however, later I realized they wanted a paper dictionary. I found one on Amazon for only $13 and I ordered it. I will continue tutoring the family but we'll consider the book a gift to celebrate the completion the TEFL certificate.
