Aileen CP#6
Our last meeting as a group for the TEFL Spring I semester was at Food Truck Thursday after our final class. It was crazy to think that 7 weeks had already gone by and that we were soon to be separated and would go on to teach in the country of our desire. People brought along their conversation partners and I found myself talking to two South Koreans as well as someone else's Chinese conversation partner. I disclosed my graduation having double majored in Sociology and Japanese. I asked what one of them was studying and she said that she was hoping in getting a masters in Sociology so we were able to connect through that. She found it a really interesting and thought provoking subject to which I agreed. I also laughed to myself once they immediately spotted the alcohol that the others had brought along asking if they could try one. (I laughed because I know of their drinking culture and it's absolutely fantastic) I then started to ask them if they knew of some recent Korean dramas and if they're as popular over here as over there. To which they answered yes to knowing both of the ones I had been watching, Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo, and Goblin. They find k-dramas to be just as addicting as I did and I was happy to share the same binge-watching understanding with them.
