We're getting down to the short strokes and everybody is breathing hard! Yes indeed! Every native English speaker took that in stride without so much as the blink of an eye. However.., you don't want to let something like that drop out in an overwhelmingly EFL or ESL environment. If you do.., well let's just say, Lucy will have a lot of 'splainin' to do!
2T and I worked on creating a cover letter tonight. I'd sent the example that we worked with ahead of time so we could go over it together. The example cover letter is nothing special but I'm happy to share it. Just ping me if you want to use it.
I had a fair amount of time since our last meeting to break this cover letter / resume process down so it could be chewable in English for 2T. I don't know that I can get him where he needs to be with only 2 hours left. Here we are though. I figure I'll hang until he's comfortable with the new lad or lass taking over the tutor watch, or until we get his resume under control. If it takes more than 2 hours, well.., I don't have anything more pressing right at the moment. There's probably some good karma in there somewhere.
Anyhow, 2T is, and has been, fun to work with. The 14 hr. time difference usually has one of us looking a tad grizzly, though as Ambassador at Large, I make it a point to be generally clean shaven. Sometimes for our weekend sessions, 2T is hungover. Eight PM local is 10 AM in Seoul. We used to meet at 7 PM local but 9 AM in Seoul was a bit early for 2T on some days. Hey... he's Air Force.
Make no mistake about it, 2T is serious about his English acquisition. He was probably the most tutored individual of our class session. In addition to having to endure two months of my own bumbling pedagogy, he had two other, younger, brighter, and more enthusiastic tutors from my classmates. For my part, I hope I made the experience useful and colorful for him. We, students in the TEFL program, are like the novice barbers at the barber college. We're doing our novitiate best! We don't cost much but there are certain risks in getting your hair cut here!
