Topic/Skill: Writing practice. I gave Ana a prompt to write about: "What's most difficult about learning English?" The writing assignment was to be completed within the hour.
Feedback provided to the tutee: When she was finished, I gave her feedback on her contact. She later emailed me her revision, and did the same for me after her second revision for major errors.
Lessons about tutoring and/or the tutee you learned: I learned that it's best to have a couple of prompts for your tutee to choose from. Moreover, because tutoring sessions were an hour long, one must be open to email communication for ongoing assignments, or you'll wind up wasting precious time during follow-up sessions.
