Date: January 17th.
Time: 9-9:50 a.m.
Room: 310
Teacher: Victoria Davis
I observed professor Davis' grammar class (group 1A) on the morning of January 17th. Her topic that day included do/does questions, and she used the whiteboard, a marker and a textbook to present her lesson plan. Moreover, part of her presentation involved explaining the differences between formal and informal speech. Student participation: the students worked in groups of threes for the majority of the class. They looked at pictures in their textbooks and explained to the teacher what the people in those photos were doing. Then, they shared their views with their group. Feedback provided: the teacher walked around often, asking her students if they understood the task required of them, checking their work, and explaining concepts individually to those who needed help. Indeed, after each class activity was presented and modeled, the teacher immediately made her rounds to observe and/or assist the students.
