Sunday, March 5 I completed a one-hour tutoring session with my child tutee.  It was so nice outside today, we sat outside and worked on vocabulary words of objects surrounding the apartment complex.  I had prepared flashcards for basic verbs however, she seemed to prefer to be outside so I decided to use the verb flashcards for another day.  The vocabulary we worked on were colors (describing the cars in the parking lot), we also discussed structural features like windows, roofs, doors.  The session was less structured than previous lessons.  Despite the more relaxed lesson, I am confident the student gained vocabulary and conversation skills, two of the most important skills in English language learning.
