Kersten TS #9

On Wednesday, February 15th I met with my child tutee Kavira from 4:30-5:30 at her house. Her family wanted to go outside again, so we passed the ball back and forth for a little while. Every time she caught it, I told her to count off on a number to help her counting skills. After all the neighborhood children joined us, we all sat down on the curb and Simon had pen and paper so the children all practiced writing their names. This was good writing practice as well. Simon and I both started teaching the children how to tell time on an analog clock. This was a little complicated, but some of the older children caught on. I took Kavira to the side and practiced the ABC’s with her and how to pronounce each letter. Her pronunciation skills are really good. We also sang the ABC song together to help reinforce each letter. Kavira really likes to sing and dance, so any kind of song as a learning tool is super helpful when teaching her. We agreed to meet up next week.
