Kailon CP #1

Today, I met with my conversation partner for the first time. Today was just basically a day for introducing ourselves and talking about our various backgrounds and upbringings. My conversation partner is from the Democratic republic of the Congo. His command of written and spoken English is excellent. It is very easy for me to understand him; however, I have noticed that his pronunciation needs improvement. He shows a little difficulty pronouncing his "r" sounds and "h" sounds. Nevertheless, he is very good at speaking English in spite of the fact that his first language is French and it has only taken him a year and a half to learn as much English as he currently knows. I must say that I definitely enjoyed the first meeting, and I look forward to more conversation partner meetings that we will have later on.
