Simon Kennell CO #2

This afternoon I observed Angel Rios' Speaking 3A class at 2:00pm. There were several similarities between Angel's and Rebecca's teaching styles. This high energy and constant student interaction were the most obvious aspects of the class. Although Angel had a somewhat smaller group, he made sure to keep the class and activities constantly moving through his disciplined lesson plan movement. Angel constantly moved around the room during group activities so that he could observe and occasionally correct things that he heard some of the students say. Angel made sure to maintain a fun and interesting atmosphere throughout the session so that his students would stay active in the lesson and participate. Although the class was fast paced, Angel made sure to allow time for a student to explain themselves or find specific words or phrases they wanted tot use to complete their thought or point. Having an activity that engages the students both mentally and emotionally seemed to help break down barriers and allow for growth in conversation to occur.
