This afternoon I observed the 1:00 speaking class with Rebecca Turk. The experience was definitely an interesting insight into various teaching methods and the intricacies of ESL teaching. The major factor that stood out to me during the session was the energy level. From the beginning of the class onward, Rebecca made sure to keep the students engaged and was constantly asking questions to make sure that students were attentive and taking in the information that was being presented. The students reacted to her positive approach and high energy levels and participated throughout the entire period. The punctuation of different activity time periods and her focus on keeping the pace of the class at just the right level, made sure to keep all of the students interactive and attentive during the lesson.
