Today at 12:00pm at CIES I had my second tutoring session with Morinao. I prepared for this session by setting up a session work list of different activities that would stimulate his speaking and writing. We began with simple sentence structure and Simple Present/Present Continuous worksheets that had various grammar activities. After having him complete a section, we went over his answers together and discussed the correct and incorrect answers. This was very helpful because it helped break the ice between us as far as creating a dynamic that made both of us comfortable. We spoke about different grammatical struggles he was having and discussed possible ways that he could mentally check himself while going through a conversation by slowing down and taking his time in making his points in conversation. I will use some of the feedback from this session and apply it in making the lesson plan for our next session this upcoming week.
