Simon Kennell CP #3

Today I met with my second conversation partner Hani, at 1:30pm at CIES. Hani is a Saudi Arabian student who has spent time in Texas before going back to Saudi Arabia for a little while. He decided to come back to the U.S. and continue his education at FSU. We met downstairs in the the student room and talked for a while about his assimilation back into American culture and the differences between his home and Tallahassee. We spoke a lot about food and the different types of food he really enjoys from Saudi Arabia and from the United States. We decided that we are going to focus a lot of our meetings around food because he feels that it is the best way to learn about each other and to have a comfortable atmosphere. Although he is a G1 student, his English was not that bad besides some vocabulary and grammar mistakes. We will be meeting next week as well to study together for a little while and then maybe grab some coffee or food.
