Joelle TS#8
I met with Pasos on Monday to go over reading and writing. We first began by reading a couple of paragraphs from the children's book, Three Little Pigs. I would ask Pasos what a meaning of a word was, if he didn't know, I would point to the picture the word was referring to and say "THIS is a pig" or "THIS is a brick" and he would understand. I would often come back to the words I taught him as to reinforce the information, and he would almost always remember. We eventually moved onto a book he was assigned for homework. We read over it, and I would point to the pictures that the words were associated to. We also practiced writing. I would write a word, such as pink, ask him to point to something that was pink, and then have him write it. After he would write it, I would ask him what letters were in the word, and he would have to tell me. I would often switch between the three subjects so as to keep Pasos interested. I've noticed improvement just in the few sessions that I've done with him, and he's always eager to learn.
