Yesterday I met with my adult tutee Ima at CIES. We worked on some of his dialogue speech from the previous session. Before the session, I typed out some of his recorded speech from the precious session. I had Ima speak about a specific topic for five minutes while I recorded him. We reviewed the typed out speech from the previous session and made corrections to the sentences that I had recorded. After going through the sentences and making corrections, I had Ima read the sentences aloud 3 times until he felt smooth and comfortable with the sentences and their corrections. This method of correction seems to really help Ima in his speech practice. We have decided that our last session will be on Tuesday (2/21).
