Kailon CP #4

During our fourth conversation partner meeting, Jean and I discussed stereotypes and generalizations. He shared with me some of the stereotypes that occur in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. He told me that there are four major regions within the DRC, and that each of the four regions has their own languages. Each region also has their own stereotypes about the other regions. For example, he told me that the other regions viewed those from one of the regions viewed the others as rude, egotistical, condescending, never on time, etc. We also discussed stereotypes and prejudices stem from fear, hatred, and lack of trust. We had an interesting conversation.
