Kailon TS #7

On Monday my tutee, Larissa, and I worked on reading. During this session, Larissa had two lists of new vocabulary words that she needed help pronouncing and defining. For some of the words, Larissa had a sense of what it meant. However, the connotation of the word was slightly different than its French counterpart. Larissa and I also worked on identifying the context of certain scenarios. I explained that certain words could have either slightly different or very different words depending on the context of the scenario in which the word was used. I also explained an aspect of American culture in which Americans give compliments, and are not too direct in regards to insults. So, we talked about cultural practices, as well. I believe the session went rather well.
