Today, I met with my adult tutee at Starbucks from 5:00 p.m to 6:00 p.m. We practiced relative clauses. After reviewing the usage of relatives clauses, we completed two worksheets I had prepared. To practice using them verbally we played "Taboo." Taboo was an effective activity because relative clauses are important for descriptions. For example, to describe the word "flamingo", would might say "This is an animal,
that has feathers,
which are usually pink in color." I was impressed by her vocabulary and we both enjoyed the game.
