Aileen TS#8

For the second half of yesterday's tutoring session I did a co-tutoring session with someone else who came in at 2pm. Together we worked on teaching the children the "head shoulders knees and toes song". She incorporated a kinesthetic approach to keeping the children interested by using sticky notes to write down each body part and sticking it on each other. We made it interactive by later on asking them to remove all the sticky notes and holding them up at random for them to answer where they corresponded to. I then pulled up the song on my phone and had them follow us along first for the order of the body parts to recite and point to and then had them do it along with us. We also integrated some visual learning when teaching colors. She had set out on the floor individual color papers and we started holding up different objects for the kids to categorize according to the color they were. The kids really seemed to enjoy themselves and its something I'll definitely keep a note of for the next tutoring session.
