La La Land part 1.
This impromptu event came about actually right after my tutoring session when I was helping my tutee prepare for his IELT exam. Since it had been our first official tutoring session he offered as an extension of thanks and welcoming to getting to know each other to go see a movie of my choice. I chose La La Land. As it was already almost 9pm and also due to the fact that La La Land had been out for almost two months in theaters the only showing available was for 11:15pm. As late as it was I honestly didn't want to pass it up because it had been a film I had been wanting to see ever since I heard of its release so I seized the opportunity. Given that we had picked a late night showing during a weekday we actually ended up being the only two in the theatre for the film showing. So I took the opportunity to explain the premise of La La Land and the genres that it fell under: a musical-romantic comedy drama film. Not going to lie that took quite a while to explain but my tutee agreed that it had a bit of everything so it had to be good right?
