Joelle CP#4
I met with Eun-Young on Friday to go to paint-a-pot! We spent the majority of the time talking and painting, she was telling me all about her life in Korea, and how the nightlife scene there was very different from America. I also asked her about cultural differences as the topic had been brought up in class prior to our meeting. She told me that it's very common for people to be humble in Korea, and that people in America are generally more open about their confidence in a public setting. We talked about other things while painting our pieces, and she was asking me all sorts of questions about American culture, such as why do people in America dress so casual? She was also surprised that she saw a woman wearing sweatpants to class! I told her that in American college settings that it's very common to see people dress casually and that people think of college as a relaxed environment. I had a great time and now I have a mug with an owl face on it!
