Daniel Bell - TS#6

Today was my second meeting with Elia. Clearly, I can tell right away that these meetings are a family affair. When we conduct our meetings, all the brothers and sisters crowd the living room. My main focus in these lessons is to center them in self-reflective. In an effort to contextualize the lesson, I use Elia’s interests in Basketball – and his favorite foods – as examples. I quickly realize that the main area Elia needs help in is reading, specifically how to pronounce and read ‘b’, ‘d’, ‘p’. Today, we did a review of vowels, noting short sounds and long-sounds. He is a very talented student and I am looking forward to next week
