During the second session that I had with one of my adults tutees today, I was able to make use of my Speaking Lesson Plan that I made for the TEFL class. Amaury told me that he doesn't get out much and that he usually stays at home. So, I figured that it would be a good idea for him to learn how to order from a restaurant. I acted out a sample dialogue between a customer and the waitress. I also showed Amaury a sample menu of various American foods. I showed him pictures of the foods, as well. Next, I pretended to be the waitress while he acted as the customer. After all of this, he told me about a project that he has to do for Mr. Wilson's speaking class. I showed how to use PowerPoint and design slide templates so that he could complete the assignment at home. I believe that today's second session went well.
